New Year's Day

Lisa here. Happy New Year! Last night was another good night for Brad, and Jenny as well. We are all so thankful for good rest for them! Today was a quiet day around the Wims'--which I think is welcome in some ways. For positive news, Brad spent most of the day only on the nasal cannula for oxygen supply, as opposed to the higher oxygen flow face mask. While he continues to feel very tired, we are encouraged by each little improvement that we see, and thank God. We ask again for prayers on behalf of Brad's spirit--his courage, strength, and peace. He has struggled with this disease for so long, and he longs for his health, strength and restored body. I know those of us around him can see the little improvements he makes every day, but only Brad knows how it feels to fight against something so devastating to your body, and to feel so helpless. Talking from an in-law point of view for a moment, it was amazing and awesome to see this family so close and connected, as we all wept and pleaded before God for Brad's life--what a blessing to be part of this family!! We pray for Brad to continue to make progress every day, and for him to see and feel that progress, and be reassured that God is working His miracle. We pray for Brad to have the wisdom, peace, patience, and comfort of knowing that God WILL heal him, even if it's on His time. Thank you all for your continued prayers, and please keep the words of encouragment flowing. Snail mail cards, emails, texts--send Brad (and Jenny, David, Sandra) words of encouragment whenever you can. More tomorrow.

Heavenly Father, watch with us over Brad, and grant that he may be restored to that perfect health which it is yours alone to give; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Praying without waiver.

Thanks so much for another update. I seem to find myself checking several times each day, hoping to find encouraging emails like the last ones that we've had. My family and I continue to keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. Someone mentioned in an earlier post how wonderful the way you all have handled this situation and have been able to bring many others closer to our God. I count myself among one of those and thank you for sharing you experiences and allowing me an opportunity to strengthen my own faith. When faced with adversity, I think anyone who has been keeping up with your family will be able to find courage and faith in our own lives, thanks to your selfless compassion and dedication in sharing this experience with us.
With continued prayers,
Karen Bryant

Brad, Jenny, David, and Sandra,

Just wanted you to know we are reading the blog every day . . . and we are inspired and awed every day by watching what God is doing, even without understanding it, through Brad and through all of you . . . through your beautiful, beautiful lives. We are petitioning our Father for you as you are being refined by fire.

We Love You,
Rich and Kara Foster

Continuing our daily prayers, and our love! Thinking of you constantly, and lifting up you and Jenny, Zeke and Kaelyn, and Sandra and David! I loved the New Year pictures! I LOVE your family and that everyone is there with you! Keep fighting Brad as each day you are feeling a little better!!! If you need a laugh, you can tease Darrell about that last Cowboys game! He was so mad about it!

Thanks for all of the updates! We are encouraged by you guys so much and so grateful for more good news! We are praying constantly--we put your Christmas card on the refrigerator (the only one due to it not being magnetic...)and literally pray every time we walk by it. Do you know how many times in a day with a 4 year old you go to and by the fridge??? We love you guys and will continue to pray tirelessly!
