More Pictures from North Carolina

Kaelyn has continued to be the center of attention as she entertains Great-Grandma & Great-Grandpa. We went into the dining hall of Grandma and Grandpa's retirment home last night for dinner and Kaelyn turned every head in the building. Of course, excluding me, she was the youngest in the room by 60 years...so she certainly stuck out. The wait staff told me that she was the first child to use the high chair in their new facility...they were so excited to carry the chair over to the table so that she could use it.

Kaelyn continues to entertain Don...she sat down with him late one evening to watch a little sports with him.

Dinner Tonight at Grandma's

This evening we went to Grandma's house for a delicious dinner prepared by Aunt Vickie. Kaelyn, of course provided the entertainment for the evening while everyone else sat and chatted. Being the only child in the house, K had center stage, much to her liking.

Trip to North Carolina

Kaelyn & I are visiting my grandparents in Winston Salem this weekend. Since Zeke is officially tied down to school, he stayed home with his best friend Gavin, then on to College Station this weekend with the Hanna's.

Kaelyn was perfect for the flight...she napped almost the entire way...I couldn't have planned it more perfectly myself :) K & I are staying with Aunt Pam and Uncle Don at their house which happens to be only 15 minutes from my grandparents. Pam and Don picked us up from the airport this afternoon and we came straight over to take a swim in their heated pool. It was lots of fun. During the swim, Kaelyn found a little friend catching some sun poolside. When Aunt Pam asked her what her bugs name was, K told her it was "Caterpillow." Kaelyn thought the caterpiller was "so cute" and insisted on talking to it using her baby voice (the voice she uses when speaking with any child younger/smaller than her). It was hilarious.

Please Pray for The Sullivans

This local family's story has been brought to my attention from a number of sources over the last week. Brady is a brand-new daddy (with a 2-week-old daughter) who has just lost his wife. Please keep Brady and all of his family in your prayers.

For more of their story go to their blog at http://bandssullivan.blogspot.com

Playing For The Cure 09'

The Clear Creek Girls Volleyball team hosted another benefit for our family this evening during their match against Springs HS. Coach Simonds, along with all the volleyball girls were so kind to organize another benefit on our family's behalf.

Kaelyn's Closet

Kaelyn has become quite fascinated with clothing recently. She is obsessed with changing her clothes multiple times through out the day. While I am excited to see her wardrobe getting put to use, I am tiring of tripping over socks, shoes, panties and outfits all day long. Mom counted the other day and realized that Kaelyn had changed outfits 6 times in 2 hours.

The following pictures feature some of Kaelyn's wardrobe-creating talent. The black shoes were recent hand-me-downs from our friend Lizzy. Kaelyn LOVES these shoes and finds them to be appropriate to wear at any time...to the gym, to school, to play outside...a good dressy heel can be an excessory for any outfit!

I do have to brag on this girl for a minute. In the past week and a half Kaelyn has moved out of her room with her brother, moved from her crib into a "big-girl" bed, stopped taking a bottle at bedtime, and has practically potty-trained herself. When Kaelyn sets her mind to something...she gets it done! I'm so proud of all her recent accomplishments...she is doing GREAT!

A Kaelyn story: This morning Kaelyn and I were in our seperate bathrooms getting dressed and ready for the day. I could hear the water running in her sink (for quite some time) and I finally called to her, "Kaelyn, quit playing in the water...turn the sink off!" She replied, "I'm not playing in the water Mommy, I am washing the potty water off my toy." Yuck! Why had her toy been in the toilet?...I refrained from asking a lot of questions and instead replied, "Ok, make sure you use soap on the toy and your hands." And I left it at that. :)

MK Weekend

This past weekend I spent several days doing several Mary Kay parties in the Fort Worth/Dallas area. On Friday night I had the opportunity to do a party with my college friend, Lisa Starr. Lisa and I were friends from the AFC and we also played intermural soccer together. She is such a blast...it was great to see her along with several other AFC girls: Sarah Dyer, Tara McClure, Abbie Schneider & her mom Mary Gooch, & Katie Carter. It was a positive energy, power packed table full of incredible women...we had a great time.

Life Group Cuties

We hosted a "Back to School Bash" for our life group this past Sunday evening. The kids swam, we grilled hambergers and just sat around enjoying each other's company. It was a lot of fun!

Here are a few pics that I took of the kiddos.

Alli's Bachelorette Party

On Friday, September 4th we celebrated Alli's upcoming nuptials by throwing her a bacheloretty party in Austin. The girls went out to the locally famous, Chuy's for dinner and then moved the party to a piano bar later that night. It was fun to have a "reunion" of sorts with several of our college friends while also having the opportunity to meet some of Alli's new Austin friends. It was a great night.
