The cold weather did help....Brad slept really well last night. I slept even better...almost 11 hours. I'm still fighting this cold and in order to sleep at night, I have taken Nyquil...that medicine knocks me out! Each night before I lay down, I just give Brad instructions to punch me if he needs something because it is doubtful that I will hear him once I am under the Nyquil intoxication :)

Brad started Hospice exactly one month prior from today. As we were meditating this afternoon, we talked about how frightening that Sunday was and how neither of us thought we would be sitting together, on our bed, meditating on January 28, 2009. Life is just full of surprises...you never know what to expect. I am so grateful for the big improvements that we have witnessed in Brad's overall health. Two weeks ago I could barely leave Brad's side due to his constant breathing difficulties. Today I felt confident enough to leave him alone in our room while I worked in the office for several hours. His improvements are so encouraging and we are so grateful.

Brad just refuses to give up. He is the strongest, toughest, most focused, most determined man that I know. He is willing to try almost any treatment, make any lifestyle change, read any book that he thinks could help his situation. I am so proud of how he handles his situation. I am proud of his attitude, his determination, and most-importantly his confidence in the Lord.

I read this verse today and it reminded me of Brad's fight.
Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble
for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you.
He will not fail you or forsake you.

Thank you for loving our family and so faithfully praying for us. God certainly hears our pleas.

I just love you, Jenny! You are so gifted with your words. I am so proud of Brad and the way he has shown his true character through this sickness. You are both constant encouragers for Scott and me. Thank you for reminding us that God never leaves our sides, even in the darkest times. We'll never stop fighting with y'all.

I totally agree with you. Brad - and you - have been such an example of true Christians that I have ever experienced. I thank you for sharing your faith and love so freely with all of us, and I continue to lift you all in prayer asking for healing and strength. God is using you is such a mighty way to show his love and power when you trust and obey. May God continue to bless you as you bless so many around you.

Without a doubt it blesses the Lord to see that you and Brad realize that each day, each night's sleep, each unhindered breath is a precious, personal gift from Him! God loves you and so do we. Consider yourself soundly, robustly hugged by

You all are a true testament to faith, prayer and healing. Our minister read us this quote last Sunday, "To know, and not to do, is not to know". You know that the LORD will provide, and you faithfully seek him out each and every moment! You continue to amaze and inspire the rest of us. Love and Blessings to you!!
