We Made It!

We just wanted to let everyone know that we made it safely to Munich. We arrived at 4:30pm this afternoon and we were greeted by Katrin's sister, Sabina. (Kathrin is my German friend who used to attend church with us at Southeast. Now she and her family live in Las Vegas.) Sabina helped us pick up our rental car and make our way to Kathrin's mother's home in Ismaning, just outside of Munich. Isolde (Kathrin's mom) had dinner waiting for us when we arrived...curry chicken...yum!

The plane ride went smoothly...hooray! We spoke with the airline supervisor when as we checked our luggage and she helped us change our seats to the bulkhead which was perfect for Brad (lots of leg room). Although Brad didn't sleep until his head his the pillow at Isolde's home, he was reasonably comfortable for the duration of the flight. That was indeed an answer to prayers because I was very concerned about how he was going to fold himself (6 foot 3 plus injured leg) into a regular plane seat. But the Lord was looking out for us because we had terrific seats.

We flew in a BA 777 which proved to be a very nice, very large aircraft. Brad's only complaint for the flight was the cabin temperature. All joking aside, I think it was about 60 degrees for most of the flight. By the time we were in the air, Brad had confiscated 3 airline blankets and was wrapped from head to toe. The only part of his body still showing were his eyes. Aside from the Rockets cap (which he put over the blanket that was wrapped around his head), he looked like an Arab woman. I had packed my camera in my luggage and was kicking myself for missing such a great photo opportunity. He looked so funny!

Tomorrow we have plans to SLEEP IN, have a lesuirely breakfast, and then head out to the grocery & market to put up some necessities and staples for our apartment. We then plan to take everything and find our way over to Markt Berolzheim. We plan to spend a little time acclimating ourself to the surroundings and resting up for the week.

Hoping to find internet access again soon....
Love you all & thank you for your prayers!

So thankful you are there and safe. What a blessing to have Kathrin's family there. God's family here on earth is such a blessing, isn't it?

Much love and many prayers.

We are so thankful that you got there safely. We are so sorry we coudln't come over on Wednesday and wish you a proper goodbye, but Carson was really sick and we ended up in hospital over night. Now he is better, and we are looking forward to more good reports on Brad and his treatments. Our prayers are with all of you!

Hi Brad and Family

Man, rough circumstances to arrive in Germany with. But with Isolde and family, you are in good hands, I assure you.

Let me add a website to check out if further treatment is needed.
http://AmericasMedicalSolutions.com

Craig Phillips has been in Mumbai for a long time now as missionary. He taught and immersed me in 1985 in North Carolina. His picture is on the right at the "about us" tab at the website. I know Mark too, having met him in India. They offer something really timely and needed.

May the Lord be very close now and in the future to each of you, your family and the loving ones around you and in contact with you.

How wonderful that the trip was as smooth as it sounds, although a bit chilly! The picture of Brad we all have in our heads is probably just as funny, if not funnier, than the real thing!

What a gift to have connections through friends to take care of you upon your arrival. God is so good to his children!

We'll be praying for healing as Brad undergoes the treatments there.

And, yes, I will be praying for your parents as they make that flight with the children. They have my utmost admiration!

Love you all. Give each other hugs from us.

Praise! I'm so glad you made it safely. (and fairly comfortably:)) I will be praying for y'all as you get settled in, as your parents bring the kiddos, and as Brad begins treatments. I only remember one phrase in German. I can't spell it, but it is a good one... Ein zwitte ice bitte... something about ice cream please ;) Seriously though, I will keep praying. Love, Erin Shiver

Glad the trip was safe and relatively confortable. We will pray daily for healing during the treatment sessions.
I can't believe Brad would look like that in public--a Rockets Hat?? C'mon.
