Tuesday am Update

Lisa again. Brad had another ok night. One big coughing episode (that I heard, anyway), but was able to get some rest, Jenny as well. Brad is holding his own, still better than Sunday, but still very fatigued. From a medical standpoint, his situation is obviously, very serious, and some would say, grim. However, it's amazing to me the improvement he has shown over 2 days ago. I know all of you are praying, and I know you will continue to lift Brad up in prayer. He needs specific prayers today for his emotional strength and will to continue fighting. As would be expected, he is experiencing feelings of sadness and uncertainty; frustration with constantly approaching God's throne with the plea of healing for the past 2 years, and always seeming to receive a "no" answer. We all consider the physical improvement over 2 days ago an answered prayer, because we were very fearful of losing him then; we know and believe that God can and will still deliver him through this trial. I know Brad believes that too, and has since the beginning. But rightfully so, he has times of overwhelming sadness and desperation. Please pray specifically for Brad to have renewed spiritual and mental strength to fight this physical illness, and for him to be able to draw that strength first from God, then from family, from friends, and from within his self.
Jenny is so strong--what an amazing woman, wife, and mommy. I know she appreciates all of your kind encouraging words, and draws strength from them. The Southeast Church of Christ Praise Team came and did some awesome singing for and with Brad and Jenny yesterday--what an uplifting experience. More updates later.

Dear Lord,

You know Brad so much better than I do. You know his sickness and the burden he carries. You also know his heart. Lord, I ask you to be with my Christian brother now, working in his life. Let your will be done in his life. Lord, I pray for Brad because your Word says I should pray for his healing. I believe you hear this earnest prayer from my heart and that it is powerful because of your promise. I have faith in you to heal Brad, but I also trust in the plan you have for his life. Lord, I don't always understand your ways, and why Brad has to suffer, but I trust you. I ask that you look with mercy and grace toward my Brad. Nourish his spirit and soul in this time of uncertainty and comfort him with your presence. Let him know you are there with him through this difficulty. And may you be glorified in his life. Amen

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servant Brad, and give your power of healing to those who minister to his needs, that he may be strengthened in his weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Praying without waiver.

Dear Father,
I pray specifically for Brad's emotional burdens right now. I can not identify with the fear that he has but I, ashamedly, often have fears that have no basis. Please give him a faith boost, a pain free day, a wonderful nap, let him hear the sounds of the people that love him surround him, Give his tired spirit a respite. Your will is being done in all this although we do not understand. Help us all to be stronger because we know or have known of Brad. Give his family a sense of peace and strength that they have not felt. Bless us all through uncertain times.

In praying for you today, these passages came to mind:
"Dont be afraid; Just believe, and she(he) will be healed."
Luke 8:50

"I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you."
2Kings 20:50

"I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security."
Jeremiah 33:6

"God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self discipline."
2Timothy 1:7

WE ARE NOT STANDING DOWN FROM OUR PRAYERS AND REQUESTS FOR HEALING!!!! OUR PRAYERS ARE CLEAR AND FIRM...AND IN JESUS NAME!!!

He is able, more than able, to accomplish what concerns me today. He is able, more than able, to handle ANYTHING that comes my way. He is able, more than able, to DO MUCH MORE THAN I COULD EVER DREAM, He is able, more than able, to make me what He wants me to be.
Father, we know that You are able. We believe that You are able. We are waiting in faith to see the miracle You have in store. Blow us out of the water God. We want to see Your power at work. We love you!

A wise man once said, "Never underestimate the heart of a champion."

That's the heart you have Brad. A champion's heart, a warrior's heart. I do not know a more competitive 'you can't beat me' man in the world. Hang tough brother! I'm sending up prayers like you wouldn't believe. There are so MANY others doing the same. We are here for you. We love you!

Brad, Jenny, and family:

Can you feel the Holy Spirit stirring? Can you feel the love that you are being embraced by now? So many people are joining their hearts (since we can't be in the same room to join hands) and are encircling you with prayer, love, and encouragement. I know God is moving...we have gathered together in His name and He has promised us He will be with us.

Father,

In Matthew 18:19-20 you tell us that whenever two of us agree that we can ask and it will be done. Lord, listen to our requests for healing for Brad. You also tell us that where two or three have gathered you are in their midst. Father, let us feel your presence now. More importantly, let Brad and Jenny feel your presence right now.

I am so moved by the story of the leper in Matthew 8 that approached Jesus seeking healing. Lord, we (all of us - Brad, Jenny, the world wide web) are seeking you with that same spirit. Jesus, you can heal Brad if it is your will. In verse 3 and 4 Jesus tells the leper to go show off his cleansed body and let the evidence of his healing be his testimony. Lord, that is what I keep coming back to. The evidence of healing in Brad will be a tremendous testimony to many people. I know there are people reading this blog that might not know you intimately or at all. Father, I don't even know how to put it into words the response I imagine when Brad is healed and the cancer is removed from his body. Lord, I want healing for Brad and peace for him and his family, but I also want for people to witness, in our times, a miraculous healing and have confirmation of your power. God, give Brad strength to persevere and endure this trial. Give his family strength as they accompany him. Bless them with a peace that is far beyond our understanding and reassure them that you are in control, and you are with them now and always.

Thank you God for everything.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Dear Lord,

Please give Brad the feeling of safeness in your hands while you heal his body, give Brad comfort in his body and spirit, talk to his inner heart and soul and let him know your peace. We know you are right there with him and beside him, but speak loudly to Brad so he can live in your peace and enjoy everyday you give him. In Jesus name we pray,
Amen

Brad, know that we love you and are in prayer for you in this time of need. I can't listen to an acapella song without thinking of you, me and Samoff lifting our voices in harmony to the Lord. Similary, we all in the unity of one body and one spirit are lifting our voices and prayers to you Lord for the miraculous healing of this courageous warrior. For you and you alone are the way, the truth and the life and there is no other name by which man can be saved. It is by this name that we ask for doctor's to scratch their heads in disbelief and believers to raise their hands in praise and unbelievers to know your miraculous power through the testimony of your servants healing. Amen

Dear Jennie,
I just today learned how to send a comment to your wonderful blog -
after having watched it from the beginning. Thank you for taking the time to share your joys and sorrows, your faith and your family with all of us.
Our continual prayer is that God will heal Brad and that HE supply you with the strength you need so desperatly. I also ask of God that HE give you a strong sense of his presence, knowing that He cares deeply for you all.
Regina in LA and Rachel in Little Rock are among your prayer warriors. All my church family here in Marshall are praying, too.
Blessings and Love,
Great Aunt Jean

Hey Brad, I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through and feeling at this time. I think we all feel so small and wish that we could help out in so many ways to repay you for all the help and good times that you have shared with us. I know that God is a major part of you and it shows through the outreach that is out there for you right now. We don't understand God's will a lot of times, but we have extreme faith and trust that he is leading you down a path that will bring glory to his name. We love you Brad and pray and plead for your miraculous recovery. We ask God to watch over you and those that are around you and taking care of you. Keep up the good fight as we all know that you are too stubborn not to! We love you.

Randy and Cindy Samoff

PS - Tom was the 3rd wheel in our singing group! We all knew that. We did have a lot of fun though and remember those good times often.
