Well we made it back to home-sweet-home! It was really nice to get away for 5 days...to be in another house in another town, away from my home phone, without my cell phone (S&D are so far out in the booneys that I can't even pick up cell service)...it really was a nice break from everything. With the change of environment...it was even a break for my brain...I found myself able to dwell on other thoughts, different thoughts...which was nice. The year 2009 my find me traveling a lot :)

I think I am going to slip off to bed early tonight...something new. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers for our family. We continue to feel consumed by all your love and support....we love you all.

Need a travel buddy? I'm your gal! I'm always up for a roadtrip!! ;)
Seriously, I'm so glad you got some time away, and I hope you continue to get good rest now that you're home. Praying for a great week with the kiddos getting back into their routines.

Jenny, I continue to hold you, K and Zeke up in my prayers. I think of you often and pray that the emotional and physical pain will end soon for you and Zeke, and Brad's parents as well. We are all pulling for you, and we are all, by the way, so proud of you. What a remarkable woman you are!

On a side note, we were in Granbury during Spring Break this past week too as we were visiting my parents (Dr. Joel and Debbie Martin). The weather was nice, and the boys and I also enjoyed time and a little fishing by the river. I am glad you were able to get away and find new things to think about and find peace in. It's amazing what you can "hear" God say when you are out in nature and the ones you love, huh?
Hang in there!!

Jenny, you probably don't know me at all, but my name is Alison Thompson, and my family attended (which feels odd to say...since my parents just moved from CS after nearly 30 yrs) the A&M Church of Christ. You might know of them...Daniel and Cathie Orozco. Anyway, I have kept up with your family through your blog for just a few months now after hearing about you on Mike and Denise Perkins blog. I do remember Brad's face from when he was in the AFC and I was younger in the church, and I have been in prayer for you guys since I found your blog. I just wanted to tell you that I so completely admire how open you were in your post about how you and your kids are doing. What a blessing for you to have felt free to share your feelings and emotions so soon after Brad's passing. Anyway, I appreciated, seeing as I am a prayer warrior for you now but I am not necessarily close enough to you to know how you are other than what I read on your blog, that you were so open about sharing with all of us what's going on with you emotionally now. I feel like I have some specific things to pray for now. I pray you can find peace in your fond memories of Brad, and I pray that God can fill those lonely voids that are so understandable seeing as your best friend and love is no longer physically by your side. Peace.
Oh, and if you are at all interested in knowing better who I am, our blog address is www.thethompsonfamily.wordpress.com.

Glad you are back at home safely & that you had a good visit. I'm sure that Sandra & David loved having you there. We'll be praying this week for Zeke as he transitions back to school & of course for you as well. You said that you'd be traveling a lot this year - we can't wait to have you here! There is a trampoline in our backyard with Zeke's name on it. Sure do love you!

Welcome back home. If you ever need to travel out this way for some R&R, just let me know. We have plenty of room, and San Antonio has lots to do for everyone!

As I read about your time in Gradbury, I couldn't help but think of this thought:

"Be still and know He, know He is Holy. Be still and know He is God."

I pray for good nights of rest for you and the kids. And for Zeke as he's back in school.

I stumbled across your blog today and reading past entries about you and your sweet husband brought tears to my eyes. I'm so very sorry for your loss but want to say that you seem like such a strong and grounded and amazing woman! Prayers for you and your family!

Hi Jenny. I worked with Brad last year at Creek. Although I did not know him very well as it was my first year there, I have found your family's story to be truly inspirational. I have been keeping up with your blog and continue to think about your family daily. It makes me appreciate my time with my family so much more. Brad and I were both teachers but I feel like his student because he has taught me the greatest lesson.

Keep being a great mother to those beautiful children of yours. Many people can learn a lot from you and your family.
