I know that you will feel safer knowing that in a town, not that far from your own, 3 superheros are working to fight the evil forces of this universe. Happy Halloween!!
The kids and I decided to drive to Brittney Bay this year to trick-or-treat with the Shoups and Broussards. We had a huge group of superheros to guide us through the neighborhood...it was tons of fun!
The kids and I are extremely blessed to have our babysitter, Sheyla in our lives this year. Sheyla helps entertain Kaelyn after school two days a week and she also watches both kids 1-2 nights a week for me while I work & play indoor soccer. As an after-school project she brought over mix and icing to make cupcakes....yum! Of course both kids were super-excited to work in the kitchen on the cupcakes. We love you Sheyla and I can't imagine how I would get anything done during the week without you...you are the BEST!!!
On Sunday, October 24th, following church, the Hanna's, the Shoup's, my parents, and Nonnie drove out to the other side of Houston to Dewberry Farms (approximately an hour and 45 mins from my house). When we arrived that afternoon, just after lunch, we realized that we were not the only families that had decided to drive our children to take part in such activities that day. The line to enter into the farm was 150 persons long and there were 1000's of people entering into the farm....wow. The grandparents suddenly realized that they needed to run errands so they headed back to Houston (while Bryan tried to slip into the car with them....not so fast BRYAN!!) Crowded does not begin to describe this exciting experience. Good thing the kids seemed to have fun. :)
Both children celebrated a "50's Day" at their schools this year. All of their outfits were so cute and of course they were both excited to have an excuse to dress up in costume for school.
This week at Kaelyn's school, the children celebrated the men in their lives with a special "Donuts with Dads" breakfast. Kaelyn was honored by having 2 of the most important men in her life there as her "dates." My children are so blessed to have the best grandparents that any child could ever hope for.
Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor... Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.
-Mother Teresa
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).
My Zeke-y
His smile says it all. What do I love about him most? His laugh, his fun-loving, energy-giving spirit, his constant desire for friends & play, his sweet nature, & his willingness to help his Mommy! I just can't help but grin when I see that smiling face..it's just contagious!
Little K
I was so surprised to be blessed with a baby girl! What a precious gift! Kaelyn Denise brings us such happiness. She loves puppies (really all animals), books, running, being tickled, & tormenting her brother. K is such a fun, cuddly girl...I just want to kiss all over that sweet face...she is such a joy!
I am a mommy and an Independent Mary Kay Sales Director. I have the two sweetest children that a woman could ever pray for. God is alive and active in our lives and our LIFE IS AMAZING! I am reminded daily of His wonderful power and His love for us. This blog is a way for our friends and family to stay in touch with us & a way to document the "happenings" in our lives. So much for the hard-back journal kept in my nightstand. Enjoy!
